KIDS FITNESS CAN LAST A LIFETIME

BENEFITS FOR CHILDREN:
• Fewer chronic health problems
• Reduces risk for cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity
  and high blood pressure
• Boost self-esteem
• Helps develop a desire to set personal goals

MOTIVATION:
• Lead by example
• Plan activities that focus on physical activity, such as hiking,
  biking, and dancing, sledding and in-line skating

GET STARTED:
• At least 30 minutes of physical activity per day
• 10 to 15 minute periods of vigorous exercise
• Teach skills for a lifetime of fitness!
• Children as young as six may strength train as long as they focus on
  proper form and technique and are under the constant supervision
  of an adult.

NUTRITION:
• Fruits and vegetables, instead of chips and cookies
• Lead by example
• Involve kids in food shopping and preparation
